Youth League & National League

Go head-to-head with teams from across your county, region and even the nation in one of the biggest team tennis competitions in Britain – the Youth League and National League.
Open to teams from all LTA registered venues – the Youth & National Leagues give players of all ages and abilities the chance to battle it out alongside against a variety of different opponents alongside their friends.

We run Youth League (county based) team events for all age groups (8U-18U) – so anyone can get involved!
Teams should be from an LTA registered venue (that could be a park, club, school or university) and should have a minimum of six players – competing in both singles and doubles.
National League (regionally based) competitions are for 12U, 14U and 18U age groups – boys and girls. These take place on a regional and national level – with the champions in each region progressing to the finals at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton (summer season only). The top teams in four set regions (based on county registration) may be accepted in each age group event based on the rankings of nominated players at entry stage.
All matches played in the competition count towards a players ITF World Tennis Number. LTA Ranking points also apply:
Grade 1 - National League Junior 12&U – 18&U Finals
Grade 3 - National League Junior 12&U – 18&U (Group Stage)
Grade 4 - Youth League 8&U – 18&U Division 1
Grade 5 - Youth League 8&U – 18&U Division 2 onwards

Summer:
- Entry opens in January 2026 and closes:
- Youth League – 28 February
- National League – 30 January
Winter:
- Entry opens in August and closes on 31 August
- The Winter season is as flexible as possible to fit in with counties.
- Each team will consist of 2 players involving singles and doubles in the 10U-18U age groups, and 4 players per team in the 8U & 9U age groups.
- There is flexibility for counties to adjust team sizes if they wish, where a cluster venue format is used.
- Please note, in the league rules, formats will be given as per these team sizes.
- Entry fees are dependant per county.
League stage dates
- Counties can choose to run their league dependant on the following league stages. Please contact your County to understand which league stage dates they will follow:
- September 2026 – December 2026 (using 2026 Competition Age groups)
- September 2026 - March 2027 - (using 2027 Competition Age groups)
- January 2027 – March 2027 - (using 2027 Competition Age groups)
Process to enter
All clubs are reminded that there is no public direct link to enter a Youth & National League. Entry must be made via the user's personal LTA login account. The following steps must be followed to ensure entry:
- Only County & District League Contacts (club administrators) at your venue will be able to enter teams into the league. You can view details on adding the County & District League contact role here. If you are unsure who has this access for your venue, please speak to your Club Main Contact.

- Note if you haven’t previously entered a team into this league, you will need to contact the respective county contact via the contact details found below, for your club to be added to the league and the above entry process subsequently completed.

Named after former Davis Cup captain, British tennis legend and founder of the National League, Paul Hutchins, this award is given to someone who has shown true commitment to the Team Tennis Competition.
In memory of Paul, each year we reward either a player, team captain or league organiser who has gone above and beyond to inspire others and make the competition so enjoyable for everyone involved.

The LTA Junior National League is a team-based competition for junior tennis players across Britain. It gives players the chance to represent their club in a structured league format against other local and regional teams.
Junior players aged 8U to 18U can enter, depending on their age group and club eligibility. Players must have an LTA Advantage membership and a valid World Tennis Number (WTN) to compete.
Teams compete in local league matches during the summer season, with successful teams progressing to regional or national finals. Matches are played in a round-robin format, usually with singles and doubles rubbers.
