Dart & Lumsden lift Prague Open title
Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden have cemented their place as two of the in-form WTA doubles players after winning their second tour-level title together in the space of a month.
The British duo were crowned champions at the Livesport Prague Open last week – adding to their Lexus Nottingham Open title in June.
Dart and Lumsden beat three all-Czech teams en route to the title, including a 6-4, 6-4 win over Lucie Havlickova and Laura Samson in the final.
This was Lumsden’s second WTA final in as many weeks after another impressive run at the Athens Open with China’s Qianhui Tang.
Lumsden is now up to a career-high world No.52, while Dart is ranked at world No.77. They are two of three British players ranked inside the top 100 after British No.1 Olivia Nicholls.
Jones & Samuel win singles titles in Palermo & Winnipeg
There were two British singles challenger titles last week for Francesca Jones and Toby Samuel.
25-year-old Jones retained the Palermo Ladies Open title – the fourth WTA 125 title of her career and her second in consecutive weeks after her success in Rome.
Top seed Jones extended her unbeaten run to 10 straight matches – saving match point to beat French seventh seed Fiona Ferro 6-0, 4-6, 7-6(6) in the final.
Meanwhile, Samuel added his fifth career ATP Challenger title in Winnipeg – building on his successful run over the grass court season.
Samuel finished the week in Canada without dropping a set, completing a title-winning campaign with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Liam Draxl.
This time last year, Samuel was ranked as the world No.888 and is now up to No.112 – a new career-high.
Jacob Fearnley also reached at ATP Challenger final last week in Bloomfield Hills, USA. The British star claimed an impressive victory over world No.120 Michael Zheng in the semi-final but eventually lost to top seed Alex Michelsen 7-6(4), 6-3.
Penney claims Torino doubles trophy
Andrew Penney claimed his third men’s doubles title of 2026 at the WC100 Trofeo Della Mole in Turin as Britain’s wheelchair players reached a series of finals across tournaments in Italy, Germany and Belgium.
Penney won his first career title partnering Malaysia’s Mohamad Yusshazwan Yusoff as the top seeds eased to three straight sets wins, beating Britain’s Ruben Harris and Adam Berdichevscky of Israel 6-3, 6-3 in the title decider, which was also Harris’s fourth doubles final of the 2026.
Penney and Harris also met in the singles quarter-finals in Turin, Penney prevailing 6-2, 6-2 before coming from a set down to beat Berdichevsky in the semi-finals and ultimately finishing runner-up to Yusoff, who took the title decider 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-2.
Lucy Shuker’s hopes of earning the 99th doubles title of her career ended in a runner-up finish at the inaugural WC500 Hamburg Wheelchair Open with Ksenia Chasteau of France. They lost to Dutch duo Jinte Bo and Lizzy de Greef 6-1, 6-4 in the final.
There were also runners-up honours for Ben Bartram and Bazil’s Daniel Roodrigues at the WC250 Belgian Open. Playing their fourth tournament together, Bartram and Rodrigues beat Casey Ratzlaff and Ji Zhenxu 6-2, 6-3 to end a run of three semi-final losses, but their hopes of a first title as a partnership came to and end against Dutch fourth seed Robin Groenewoud and Maarten Ter Hofte, who won a thrilling conclusion to the final 3-6, 6-3, 10-6.
