Two-time Grand Slam champion Elena Rybakina is gearing up for the 2026 grass court season, where she’s guaranteed to be a strong contender to take home some silverware.

Rybakina is one of the most dangerous grass court players on the WTA Tour. The world No.2 reached the semi-finals at her first tour-level event on grass at s’Hertogenbosch in 2019 and has since gone on to reach multiple quarter-finals and semi-finals on the surface.
It wasn’t until 2022 that Rybakina finally made her breakthrough, when she was crowned women’s singles champion at Wimbledon – marking her first Grand Slam title.
Since then, Rybakina has secured more standout results on grass but will be eager to add a second career title on the surface to her collection this summer.

Rybakina's 2025 grass court season
Rybakina kickstarted her 2025 grass court campaign at the HSBC Championships, where she beat Heather Watson before bowing out to eventual champion Tatjana Maria in the quarter-finals.
From there, she went on to record back-to-back quarter-finals by reaching the last eight in Berlin - losing out to world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in a tight three-set battle - before wrapping up the grass court swing with a third-round appearance at Wimbledon where she lost out to 23rd seed Clara Tauson.
What is Rybakina's biggest grass court win?
Rybakina’s biggest grass court win undoubtedly came in 2022, when she was crowned champion at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Entering as the 17th seed, Rybakina got her campaign off to a stellar start, beating lucky loser Coco Vandeweghe before securing straight-sets wins over Bianca Andreescu, Zheng Qinwen and Petra Martic to reach the quarter-finals.
There, she fought back from a set down to beat Ajla Tomljanović 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, before beating former world No.1 Simona Halep to reach her first Grand Slam final, where she took on Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur.
In the first Wimbledon title match between first-time Grand Slam finalists of the Open Era, Rybakina once again came from a set behind – eventually defeating Jabeur 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Rybakina has since gone on to lift a second major title at the Australian Open in January 2026.
