Lexus Nottingham Open 2026: Two-time champion Katie Boulter set to return

• 2 minute read

British No.3 Katie Boulter has received a wild card entry to the main draw of the Lexus Nottingham Open where she’ll look to compete for a third title on the grass.

The WTA 250 and ATP Challenger 125 tournament comes to the Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre from 13-21 June 2026.

Boulter joins a line-up filled with grass court champions including defending champion McCartney Kessler, Wimbledon 2024 winner Barbora Krejcikova, reigning HSBC Championships title holder Tatjana Maria, as well as last year’s Lexus Eastbourne Open champion Maya Joint.

They will all join a star-studded line-up that spans the top 60 WTA rankings, including Olympic gold medallist Qinwen Zheng, rising star Iva Jovic, former world No.5 Jelena Ostapenko and Strasbourg champion Emma Navarro.

The 2023 and 2024 champion will return to her hometown tournament as a main draw wild card in a bid to become the first woman to lift the trophy a third time since Elena Baltacha (2010, 2011, 2013).

The British No.3 has seen most of her grass court success at the tournament, including a record fifth quarter-final in 2025, where she lost to eventual champion Kessler.

The four-time WTA title holder will be looking to use the tournament to warm up on the surface as she looks towards Wimbledon with hopes to better her career-best third round runs.

Boulter’s 2026 season got off to a successful start, with the Leicester-native lifting her first tour title of the year at the Ostrava Open in February.

Other notable results from this season include a quarter-finals run at both the Merida Open and the Rouen Open, as well as an appearance in the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.

Along the way, she’s risen from No.120 in the WTA rankings back in February, up to a season-best of 60 in May. She will be looking to keep the momentum going as she heads into the grass season.
