HSBC Championships 2026: Jack Draper announces withdrawal

• 1 minute read

British tennis star Jack Draper has withdrawn from the 2026 HSBC Championships due to injury.

The former world No.4 and Queen’s Club semi-finalist won't be competing at his home event this year, but hopes to be back later in the grass court season.

The 24-year-old British star said: "Recovery going in the right direction, but I’m going to give myself one more week and aim to return at Eastbourne. Very hard to miss one of my favourite events of the year."

Draper is currently dealing with a knee injury sustained in Barcelona at the start of the clay court swing.

Earlier in the season, he made his comeback from a bone bruise injury with a win over 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic during a quarter-final run in Indian Wells.

This year's HSBC Championships boasts a number of top names from the ATP Tour, including former finalists Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti, as well as British No.1 Cam Norrie and rising star Rafael Jodar.
