Since making her debut in 2018, Boulter has been a driving force behind Great Britain’s rise to No.2 in the Nation Rankings and their three semi-final appearances in the last four years.

While her form has been up and down in recent months, there’s no better place for Boulter to get back to her best in an environment that brings out the best in her tennis.

Linda Noskova

Boulter’s likely opponent in their quarter-final clash and the only 2026 Grand Slam champion competing in the Finals this year, Linda Noskova will lead a star-studded Czechia team this year.

21-year-old Noskova won an all-Czech Wimbledon final this year over teammate Karolina Muchova to lift her first Grand Slam title and achieve a new career-high of world No.6.

Like many of her compatriots, Noskova is a true double threat in this year’s competition, having recently won the Cincinnati Open doubles with Marie Bouzkova.

Noskova was a standout player in Czechia’s 3-2 win over Switzerland in the Qualifiers earlier this year, defeating Viktorija Golubic and former Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic.

Jasmine Paolini

Winning the Billie Jean King Cup is one of the toughest challenges in tennis – to do it twice in back-to-back seasons and reach three consecutive finals is almost unprecedented.

Jasmine Paolini has been the No.1 player for an Italian side that has dominated the Billie Jean King Cup for several years and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

The former Wimbledon and Roland Garros runner-up is undefeated in her last eight Billie Jean King Cup matches – last losing to Iga Swiatek in the 2024 semi-finals.

Qinwen Zheng has hit form just at the right time for host nation China.

The 23-year-old has been battling back from a long-term injury over the last 12 months but hit her stride at this year’s US Open.

Coming in as the world No.121, Zheng battled through qualifying before knocking out former Australian Open champion Madison Keys and six-time major winner Iga Swiatek in a run to the quarter-finals.

A former Olympic gold medalist in Paris, Zheng has a career-high ranking at world No.4. When she’s on form, there are very few who can stop her, and she’ll be hoping to take her country to their first final in this competition.

Cristina Bucsa

Spain’s Cristina Bucsa has quietly put together an impressive 2026 season in both singles and doubles.

In March, she won her first career WTA singles title in Merida, where she defeated Paolini and HSBC Championships winner Donna Vekic, and she recently made the third round at the US Open after missing the grass court swing.

On the doubles court, she’s currently ranked as the world No.14 and is coming off the back of a title run at the WTA 500 Guadalajara with American Nicole Melichar-Martinez.

Bucsa is still relatively inexperienced in the Billie Jean King Cup, having only played three ties, but played a key role in the team qualifying for last year’s Finals.

Elina Svitolina

World No.7 Elina Svitolina is the second highest-ranked player at this year’s Finals – only behind Noskova.

The Ukrainian star has been in great form throughout the 2026 season. The 32-year-old has won titles in Auckland and Rome, as well as reaching the final of the WTA 1000 Dubai, the semi-finals at the Australian Open, Indian Wells and National Bank Open, and a Roland Garros quarter-final.

Svitolina has 19 career singles wins in the Billie Jean King Cup – the most recent coming in Qualifiers against Poland back in April. Her narrow three-set loss against Paolini in last year’s semi-final was a decisive moment in Italy’s title push and prevented Svitolina from reaching her first final.

With the absence of Marta Kostyuk this week, Svitolina’s role in this strong Ukrainian team is now more important than ever.
