Men’s Professional Tennis Tournament Coming to Newport in 2027

Some of the world's rising tennis stars will compete in Newport next year as the Lexus British Pro Series Newport M25 comes to Newport Tennis Centre from 24th-31st January 2027.
The international men's professional tournament will see players compete in both Singles and Doubles events. The tournament champions will each earn ATP ranking points, working towards their journey of reaching the professional circuit.
The event marks a significant milestone for tennis in Wales, with Newport joining cities such as Glasgow, Sheffield and Nottingham in hosting an M25-level tournament. Alongside the Lexus Wrexham Open, Wales will now host both men's and women's professional tennis events in 2027.
An M25 tournament is a high-level professional tennis event featuring players who are often among the world's top 200-400 competitors.
The tournament could also provide an exciting home opportunity for Welsh players. In 2026, James Story, Finn Murgett and Vicktor Frydrych competed at M25 level, and the Newport event will give current and future Welsh players the chance to compete for valuable ATP ranking points in front of home support.
Matches will be streamed live throughout the tournament, allowing fans from across Wales and beyond to follow the action. Spectator will be welcome throughout the week, culminating in a finals weekend that will feature a ball crew made up of young players from Newport's local tennis programmes.
Mark Lewis, Competition & Events Manager for Tennis Wales said:
"We are delighted to bring the Lexus British Pro Series Newport M25 to South Wales. Hosting a tournament of this level provides an outstanding opportunity for Welsh players to compete on home soil while inspiring the next generation of players and fans."
Luke Di Franco, Tennis Manager for Newport Tennis Centre said:
"We are incredibly proud to host the Men's $25,000 Lexus British Pro Series event at Newport Tennis Centre. This represents the highest level of professional tournaments ever held at our venue and is a significant milestone for both the centre and tennis in the region. We are excited to welcome some of the country's and world's emerging talent to Newport and showcase high-level professional tennis to our community."
The event is expected to attract players from across the UK and internationally, helping build Wales’ reputation as a venue for international sporting competition.
